Haven’t been to PA in a while. Mostly because if i want story i go to Boxer Hockey, and if i want cheap laughs i go to Oglaf, and if i want any video game insight i go to Zero Punctuation. But there are still gems if you dig enough.
Young Avengers
Damn, think it’s been a couple years since i checked on them. So apparently the re-released the original Volume 1 in an Ultimate Collection (soon to be on my bookshelf next to the old one because i am weak), and yeah there’s been little one-offs and buncha crap. But a lot of fans seem to like Children’s Crusade which seems to be Wiccan and Speed finally making a determined effort to find their mother, The Scarlet Witch. Unlike the one-shot they had about it where they went to a locale, didn’t find her and gave up. Pfft.
Anyway, Billy and Teddy are always shown flirting and talking about making out and even sleeping (clothed) together in bed, but still no kiss. Really, Marvel? Is it that hard? I have a headache.

I should have one of these. Then again i’m not sure most of my hate would be satisfied being contained.
This article focuses on DC’s “reboots” of their famous heroes and heroines—more specifically on their reimagined Catwoman and Starfire—from a female comic-reader’s point of view.
It’s lengthy but hits a lot of nails right on the head. When i was young i would look at Rogue and Catwoman, or even April O’Neal or She-ra, or Morgana from Darkwing Duck or Mallory from the Mighty Ducks cartoon, and i would see strong female characters with gorgeous bodies but also gorgeous personalities i wanted to be. The issue isn’t the lack of clothes or their impossible busts in the comics and cartoons today; it’s how they’re not PEOPLE anymore. They’re lifeless husks meant to give the male audience a thrill while looking dead-eyed and contorted.
/co/ or boards like it will constantly argue some DC males pose just as much. If you’ve so much as glanced at a Nightwing comic, you’ll know he was the Best Ass of DC (voted by both men and women). And that’s fine. No one is trying to take away your eye candy. But while Nightwing’s pin-up poses were every few pages, the ladies we’re comparing him to are breaking their backs in every frame. While Nightwing posed during battles or giving us exposition about a situation as he roamed rooftops, these ladies are posing while in a pool, getting dressed, stripping for money, or as their guy teammates brag about having “conquered” them.
Needless to say, there’s a reason i was always a Marvel girl.

Can’t tell who that is in the corner either. Is that Scarlett Witch in the middle?
Yeah. Stunning as ever, right?
Jean Gray was boring as HELL before Phoenix. Like, seriously.

This is why Teddy is one of my favorite comic book characters
Avengers: the Children’s Crusade #1
Oh, Teddy. Everyone just needs to hug this perfect kid as a collective.
