I very much like Elementary. Jonny Lee Miller is fantastic as always, and Lucy Liu kinda left me stunned. I think she’s my favorite incarnation. I’ll probably reblog some gif sets so might want to block the show name if you’re squeamish over minor spoilers.
The ONLY thing is
The motherfucking twisting of asexual/sex-repulsed people. I mean, it started off okay. Holmes says himself he finds sex repulsive but it’s something he acknowledges his body or mind needs to function in top form, like food and sleep. Okay, whatever; i’m sure there’s some sex-repulsed people like that somewhere. (Once in a blue moon i’ve really wished one could safely and easily find a male prostitute to do exactly as i say and get out like i’m paying for a haircut or something as impersonal. I’d probably lose all desire in the middle of it but at least i’d know i could stop and kick him to the curb with his cash with no fuss.) But in the third act, Watson kills this acceptance by “deducing” Holmes had left London because of a woman; that his finding sex repulsive is bullshit because the truth is he’s just scared of letting himself get close to someone again. His sad silence seemed to indicate she was right for now.
I hate society. We’re not DAMAGED by a broken heart. That’s the same insult as saying a woman is only lesbian because she had a terrible hetero relationship. We’re capable of not finding people sexually attractive AND thinking personally engaging in sex is just disgusting for no other reason than it’s the way we are.

I’m confused: were you upset because of what i said or at the show? Because i can’t figure out what i might’ve said...
